
EDEXCEL ITQs in INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Access
is not restricted to those who are in current IT employment. Candidates who
accumulate sufficient valid evidence of their ability to perform to the required
standard may be awarded either individual units or full ITQs. Assessment will
be made using realistic work environments, temporary work placements and direct
workplace evidence. Full credit will be given for evidence of existing competence.

All five units are required at Level 1. Delivery and attendance is flexible part-time or full-time and may involve your workplace or placement. Assessment of competence in real work situations is completed by building a portfolio (paper and electronic) of your evidence of tasks, carried out to national standards.

Different combinations of units MAY be possible. In the IT APPLICATION route you will be able to combine any TWO suitable units for the award. The ITQs in INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
You will be using some of the latest IBM®/compatible hardware
and software, using Windows®XP/Vista/7
operating systems.
ITQs may be accumulated by flexible routes although not all routes
are possible. Each ITQ is made up of units. Each unit may be counted
as a separate qualification, sufficient units combining to make an ITQ. Full
credit will be given for evidence of existing competence: there are no formal
entry requirements and no mandatory time limits. The level 3 ITQs should only
be tackled by well motivated trainees with good communication skills and competent
at the next level down.
START DATES ARE FLEXIBLE
Courses are for six months but trainees can start at any time if space becomes available. Attendance is normally limited to 15 hours per week leaving trainees claiming the Job Seeker's Allowance time to meet their obligations regarding looking for work.
