June 2009: Jobs and Training Fair

Jobs and Training Fair at Kensington and Chelsea Town Hall. Visitors to the Job Fair were able to discuss our range of courses with some staff and students. Besides other potential employers there were sessions on CV preparation and interview skills. On the stage there were several dance presentations and a fashion film.

March 2009: University of Greenwich

On the 23rd of March, LEC staff and HNC students went to the University of Greenwich where they gave presentations as part of their courses.

March 2009: Chatham House event
The Kurdistan Region in Iraq: Future Prospects

On the 12th of March, LEC student Emad Salahy attended a meeting at Chatham House (Royal Institute of International Affairs) with His Excellency Masoud Barzani (elected the first President of the Kurdistan Region in 2005).
The meeting was chaired by the Rt Hon Dr John Reid (MP for Airdrie and Shotts, former Home Secretary).

November 2008: Congratulations to Paul Hipperson and Dr Harrish Bheemul for successful completion of their PGCE (PCET) at the University of Greenwich via Bromley College. Dr Bheemul was nominated as the most outstanding performer on the programme.

 

October 2008: HNC Computing students, Paul Rodriguez, Narlayp Riyat, Curtis Docteur and Yozepheen Khan, have won the second prize at the Sony Ericsson Homescreen designer competition at the Symbian Smartphone Show 2008 in Earls Court.  The idea behind the competition was to create a new theme for the Sony Ericsson handsets. The designer software  was set up on various systems at the exhibition and the students spent an hour  to create the masterpiece. The students were awarded a Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset. October 2008: Malcolm Spalding, Harrish Bheemul Paul Hipperson and Medjia Chibani attended a get-together at the House of Commons with members of the Kensington and Chelsea Chamber of Commerce.

 

 

 

New course: BTEC Introductory Certificate for IT at Work (Level 1

 It is a one-year course and covers 2 full-units and 2 half-units. More information is available in the course section. Phil McDonough is the course manager and tutor.

New courses: Electrical Installation

This VRQ is available for candidates who need to comply with the part P Building Regulations requirements and prove they are competent to carry out electrical work in domestic dwellings. Successful candidates will be considered to have achieved competence as a DOMESTIC ELECTRICAL INSTALLER.

2006/2007

 

New courses: Two new Foundation Degree courses (Level 5) in Computing and Electronics Engineering (Subject to validation).

 

There are two choices in both these areas -

which both you can convert into an Honours Degree with a further year of study at a recognised university.

 

The HND course in Electronics Engineering has a new updated syllabus this year.
