UNIT-BASED APPLIED PRACTICAL WORK

DIGITAL ELECTRONICS EXPERIMENT There are four units to be covered on this course, which leads to the award of BTEC LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATE. Each unit is assessed by a portfolio of practical work, which the student builds up over the year ready for assessment.

DEVELOPING SKILLS IN ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY
Components, tools, circuits, assembly techniques, soldering, testing, safety, practical work projects

WIRING ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS & COMPONENTS
Precautions, components, tools, cables, domestic circuits, assembly techniques, safety, practical work projects

A highly practical, introductory course with a wide ranging background in underpinning knowledge and skills, aiming at craft-level operators and junior technicians employed in general electrical and electronics engineering. Also leads to Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma courses.

Confident students will also be encouraged to take the FUNCTIONAL SKILLS units, including INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
