TEN MONTHS FLEXIBLE PART-TIME COURSE UP TO TWO DAYS PER WEEK

Interpret a design brief and follow the design process
Understand concepts and techniques used in branding
Develop and extend critical and creative thinking skills
Collaborate in a creative process
Understand market research
Develop a presentation
Deliver a presentation
Work with costs and budgets
Create 2D models using a CAD system
Create 3D designs using a CAD system
Contribute to running a project
Undertake market research
Devise user testing of designs
Seek advice and help for the business

Garden redesign
Delivery and attendance is flexible part-time or full-time and may involve your workplace or placement. Assessment of competence in real work situations is completed by building a portfolio (paper and electronic) of your evidence of tasks, carried out to national standards.

Learning at the LEC means you can work at your own pace, using professional, industry-standard software.

Confident students will also be encouraged to take the FUNCTIONAL SKILLS units, including INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.

Level 2 NVQ Certificate in DESIGN SUPPORT

There are 12 units:
Develop design principles, techniques and processes for designing products
Understanding the design brief
How to follow a design process
Assist in following a design process
Application of techniques for the design of products
Research, test and apply techniques for the design of products
Working in a team
Create visual designs
Deliver a presentation
Assist in producing small scale 2D and 3D prototypes, models, mock-ups, samples or test pieces
How the design industry works
Principles and implementation of relevant legislation in design
